Vintner's UpdatePosted by admin in Untagged |

Harvest 2011 is at an end today with the last bin of Riesling in the press. News industry wide is of a late onset and finish to the 2011 vintage harvest and resulting crush. Maturity, monitored by acid and sugar measurements, has been a capricious dance. Red varietals are completing fermentation and headed for the press next. Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Gris have completed fermentation. Viognier, Gwurztraminer, and Riesling are following in order. I am optimistic about the young red vintage. White wines are solid and balanced. We are looking forward to Malbec 2009 release with the turkey at Thanksgiving.
