2014 Cabernet Franc


Description: As vines mature, the fruit they produce often takes on a firm identity.  So it is with the Cabernet Franc produced in our Needlerock Vineyard.  Mature dark red berry and light oak on the nosePlush mid palate featuring ripe raspberry and a hint of French Oak.  Finishes with a light tannin impact.  Needlerock vineyard is named for the tough old basalt spire which has endured the tireless assalt of the persistant Columbia River. Soils are sandy, toward gravel, quite lean and arid.

Food Pairing: Poultry, lasagna, Middle eastern fare.  Cheeses include sheep cheese, Monterey Jack, Havarti, Edam, and Crottin

Specification: This fruit was fermented at optimum ripeness and aged in experienced French Oak. 13.7% Alcohol
