2016 Pinot Gris
Known as Pinot Grigio in Italy, Pinot Gris originates in the Burgundy region of France. Grigio is typified as light, bright, and somewhat acidic, whereas the Gris is more “full-bodied” and rich.
Tasting as I write, the recently bottled and just released 2015. Pinot Gris is ripe on the nose, full bodied with flavors of pear and nectarine. A bit spare and lean, but not too acidic. Best served quite chilled.
A nice complement to salads or lighter fare. Goes well with scallops, prawns, halibut and salmon. Also good with ham, chicken, quiche, pasta, roasted vegetables, and stir fry. Cheese plates with Asiago, Stilton, and Cougar Gold.
Whole cluster pressed, fermented in stainless steel Alcohol 113%, Residual sugar at 1%.
